The idea of growing your own herbs is so appealing but it’s not as easy as it looks. Each herb needs specific pots, conditions and care to flourish, so here is a quick guide to the most popular herbs.
- Basil – Needs rich soil that is well drained, so a pot is best. They also love the sun so this one is perfect on your windowsill as long as there’s adequate sunlight.
- Mint – This one can run wild in your garden, so rather stick to a pot. It loves rich, moist soil conditions. Likes some sun, but mostly just in the morning.
- Coriander – Not too much sun for this one, it prefers midday shade. May be easier to plant in pots where they can be moved, but be careful the roots can grow long and deep.
