01-waq-atlas-moth-adapt-590-1Could this be the biggest insect that ever lived?

According to National Geographic griffinflies from the genus Meganeuropsis grew up to 27 inches, currently they reach a maximum of eight inches.

The largest of their fossils were found in France and Kansas and were 300 million to 280 million years old.

Thankfully these insects don’t exist anymore, I wouldn’t want to find one of these in my bed.
