The potentially deadly, mosquito spead disease MVE has been detected in chickens on the outskirts of Darwin. Residents are being urged to take the necessary precautions.
The virus Murray Valley Encephalitis (MVE) causes inflammation of the brain as well as affecting the nervous system.
The virus belongs to the same group of viruses as Dengue Fever and Zika and perhaps more alarmingly – there is no vaccine.
