As the seasons change and we approach peak mosquito season, the City of Mandurah with the Peel Mosquito Management Group (PMMG) completed a 573 hectare aerial treatment, the largest ever undertaken in the region.
The city also warned the community to be aware of the prevalence of mosquitoes around this time of the year and the diseases they can bring like Ross River and Barmah Forest Viruses.
The city of Mandurah urged people to stay vigilant about personal mosquito protection by wearing insect repellent and long, loose fitting clothing when outdoors.
The also urged people to protect infants and children with suitable clothing, bed nets, insect screens etc.
If possible avoid being outdoors during dusk and dawn.
