According to a recent article on Abc.net.au drones are the latest tool in biological pest control being used by Australian farmers.
Useful bugs are being used by farmers to protect their crops against the harmful, crop eating bugs which have the ability to destroy crops.
A Queensland strawberry farmer is behind the invention, testing the use of his drones for dispersing insects over crops for the last 18 months.
Nathan Roy, the inventor and farmer began his drone system with an 8 bladed helicopter carrying a special bag with a spreading device.
He explained that using drones could have significant implications for the rearing of beneficial pests, making it less labour intensive and expensive.
This goes to show that not all insects are bad. In fact all of them have their purpose on the planet. We just don’t want them inside our homes so make sure you have your screens in place to keep them out.
