There’s even more reason to ensure your Freedom Screens are in place, insect bites are being linked to the increasing number of cases of Buruli ulcers, also known as flesh eating bacteria in Australia.
Most recently the pathogen that causes the condition has been found along coastal Victoria and in particular along Mornington Peninsula and Bellarine Peninsula.
Authorities are apparently now investigating links between mosquito/ insect bites and the Buruli ulcers.
At first the infection with the bacterium does not cause serious problems but, over a period of months it develop into a destructive skin ulcer.
